Am I fucked for my Background Check?

Hey guys,

Just realized a line on my resume is apparently not true at all. I have a line that states some scores from high school, and through speaking with the Collegeboard this weekend (checking to make sure all of my credits had transferred, university policy), they don't have any record of this (SAT score was fine thankfully).

However, I went through a background check for an SA position at a BB with the same information on my resume and didn't get dinged, so I'm thinking it might be ok?

LOL they don't check with the collegeboard. If they did, they wouldn't have a way of confirming if it's actually you. Imagine how many john smiths there are in the world. They'll go as far as a criminal/credit check, work experience, and college transcript.

My best advice for you, as I have seen many people in the same shoes as you before, is to call them ASAP and state the inaccuracy. Come clean, set yourself free and relieve yourself of this burden before you put your whole career down the drain. This is not something that should go overlooked.

Knew a friend that knows a friend of a friend, that this happened to and he got called out on it and dinged, dinged hard, his IB life was over and last I heard was that he was mining in the deep gold mines of Guyana.

Happened to an acquaintance of mine as well.. He over stated the P&L impact he had on the firm by a half percentage point. Ended up in Sri Lanka working in one of those clothing factories with exit opps as a slave in Dubai.
