A&M NACR to HL / LAZ / CVP RX?
Pretty specific I know but what are the chances of making the jump to these specific RX IB firms? Don’t want to go to ops focused PE firms or PC, and that’s where most recruiters are reaching out from.
Also how do I best position myself for the jump? Would cold applying work, if I’ve been on deals with the aforementioned three firms and put that on my resume, or is networking needed?
Can’t comment on the ease /difficulty too much, but I know LAZ took a guy from FTI to be chairman of their restructuring arm a year or so ago
HL regional offices do target rx consulting people for interviews, NYC is a bit of a stretch given most regional rx people want to transfer to ny as well. you would need to network for sure though
I've had no issues when trying to recruit for RX IB from consulting.
Networking always helps, but I've also had a decent hit rate cold applying when going through the process a few years ago. As always, it helps if you've had related work experience (i.e. 363 sale, DIP financing sizing / marketing, recovery waterfall analysis under different scenarios), but not entirely necessary and not like the banks don't know that consulting work = / = banking.
You've got this - Best of luck!
