An Interesting Situation
I am currently an underclassmen, and I have not been too active in the past regarding internship applications. I went through on-campus recruiting for summer analyst positions at several banks (BB and MM), but I suppose I am not their target age, and since I had some plans to go to China this summer, I did not prepare for the interviews too thoroughly.
I have managed to come upon an interesting opportunity. One of the founders of a prominent MM (think Jefferies or Piper Jaffray) needs a summer intern to assist him with some research.
I plan on accepting, and I have already sent an email to him late yesterday night, but I am not sure if that was the most professional way to accept.
Some advice regarding how to accept as well as regarding this internship would be appreciated.
Something to the affect of I really appreciate the offer and look forward to working with you this summer
