No. Knowing more than others gets you from AN1 to AN2. Being able to manage people (Analysts and Interns) on deal processes, coordinate work streams and help the whole operation run smoothly is what gets you to AS. I know plenty of people that have risen through the ranks at lighting speed when the only skill required was that of executing tasks well. As soon as a people management component come into the picture, they failed.
