Analysts, how often do you text/use your cell phone while in the office?
I obviously am planning on being very focused on my job, but I enjoy using my phone from time to time to respond to the occasional text. Will I be allowed to use my phone in the office? If so, how much is too much?
Tip: use your phone when walking to and using the bathroom (for me happens every ~hour)
Bump.
constantly tbh - especially just responding to a quick text is totally fine
wouldn't do it right when you start, but you are there so long no one expects you to avoid your phone the entire work day. You're totally ok responding to texts, just try not to sit mindlessly scrolling instagram as seniors/staffers walk by
I use mind all the time during downtime or waiting for comments. Don't see any problem with it.
Dude it's investment bank not a communist uni soviet. Noone cares if you're on your phone 24/7 or whatever as long as you do your job. Don't think my associate cares if I jump off the building either, not sure why they would worry about me watching porn on my phone.
Associate here, i just use it whenever i want tbh, but it does get a bit awkward when my director walks past and sees me using it for non-work purposes.
edit: not in the US, but understand firm policies and am deleting before it influences anyone negatively.
Your second paragraph is why JP got fined millions
