I worked with a couple guys like the unfortunate stars of this video over the summer. They always talked about "going hard" and tried to justify getting bottle service by saying "they would have spent that much anyway". Flat out, the one time I was suckered into hanging out with them, it was by far the lamest night of my summer. They were all nice guys, but it seemed like they were more concerned with being seen and saying where they'd been than just having a good time.
Also, I can't stand the overly horny 20-somethings who make it their nightly goal to get laid. I'd say for this group, their actual conversion ratio is 1%. I swear to you, the most fun I had was when I went out with a couple friends and girls we knew and just focused on getting hammered. Good things always seemed to happen in those instances.
Last comment - these clubs are OK on occasion, but I much preferred spots that reminded me of college bars. Partially because drinks were significantly cheaper, but also because of the crowd.
