Answering "What do you do when you find a mistake in a meeting"
"You're in a meeting with a client after working for a while on a project. You are going through a deck of slides with the client, and you notice that one of the numbers on the page is wrong. Your MD is there with you. What do you do?"
How would you answer this question?
In my opinion you HAVE to point out the mistake just not openly in front of the client.
Neither the client, nor the MD will notice. But it's not like you can say that in the interview.
You keep your mouth shut. If it's a minor detail, then just correct it on your own in the finals saved on your shared drive so it doesn't get carried forward. If it's really major, tell your associate or VP, as soon as you can get them alone after the meeting so they are aware. They can deal with the MD as it's their ass on the line as well. If it's just you and the MD on a deal or if the client calls it out in the meeting, then God rest your soul...
In an interview, you just say that you would keep quiet and point it out to the team post-meeting.
