Any 70+ hr/wk have a dog? How do you make time?
How do you find the time to take the dog out, play, feed, and generally care for them? I can only imagine the big no no’s of taking your dog to the office. Even while WFH it seems like it would be impossible to really care and take them out on walks/to use the bathroom.
Do you treat it like having a kid and just have your SO’s/pet Nanny take them out?
I’m currently working some weeks 80+ hours and it’s draining, a dog would be very uplifting and probably increase my productivity. But the simple fact of bathroom walks every 4-8 hours seems impossible when I’m at the office some days for 15 hours. Doesn’t seem right for a dog, much less a puppy to be subjected to that. Never mind the apartment restrictions in place when you have a non emotional support/service dog.
So for the dog owners here, how do you do it? Why and when did you get your dog? How much time do you spend caring for them? What are your thoughts on owning a dog when working so much? Bringing a dog to the office is a certain no-no… right?
Maybe get your family to take care of the dog or bring your dog to doggy day care
Cats
Easier when you have a partner. Other wise don’t do it. My dog does daycare 3x a week and got him two months before starting IB so was able to spend time with him & train as a puppy.
I work 80h and have a dog, but in my case I am the dog.
I had a dog in PE. 3x per week all day play at a dog daycare, and then always made sure to have friends or neighbors on hand who could help take her out if needed. She was amazing though, only needed to go out 2x per day and was kinda like a cat when I was gone actually and loved just chilling at home and sunbathing. Also made sure to take her on long walk or runs every day before work. Wouldn't take the risk of getting a new dog though while in finance, only if you know their personality and habits beforehand.
Excess consumerism dude, lmfao people drop thousands on dogs just to barely see them lol and have someone else walk them 70% of the time.
>do doggy day care!
you know America is too rich when there are people paying money to have literal animals be babysat
Tell me you've never been around animals without telling me you've never been around animals
keep consuming, being a fur mama must be amazing!

I have 2 dogs… just worked 75. Model and pitch
+1. Agreed. A dog is a living creature who experiences emotion much like we do. Having it holed up for 15+ hrs every day at home/kept in a strange area (pet daycare) with little individual attention doesn't sit right with me. The owner is the dog's entire life, and if they don't see you all day, I can only imagine how isolated, abandoned, and lonely they feel.
I had a dog working 80+ hours per week.......key word "HAD" a dog...
