Any advice on how to improve on calls?

Wondering if anyone has signed up for a corporate speaking course or performance coach to help with lead speaking roles on client calls/meetings?

Often overlooked but something id like to refine personally. If anyone has any recs, I appreciate it!

Don’t have advice for any specific resources but these things really helped me get better.

1) Say something early. I always find it’s easier to keep up momentum if you’re the one who takes charge and kicks off the convo vs. waiting for the client or MD to start things off

2) Overprepare. It’s a huge confidence booster to come in knowing that you’re the most informed person on the call. Spend half an hour before the call outlining your talking points, jotting down key stats / figures, thinking of open questions, etc.

3) Practice. Really the biggest thing for me. Exposure therapy is real and works and you’ll find yourself naturally loosening up and feeling much more comfortable over time.

I don’t disagree with the above, but rarely do I have 30 minutes to prepare for a call. I tend to listen to what others on the call are saying and only interject if something is inaccurate or going to push us off course.

Highly recommend ensuring that you do not use “like, uhm, I guess” when speaking. Be confident in your words and ensure each word has meaning. Nobody likes to be stuck on a call listening to word salad.
