Any Software Engineers around?

Hi all i've been thinking about my situation a bit recently: i'm 26, and I currently do freelance software work in London, rates between 575-675 per day, never had a problem getting a gig because i'm in quite a good niche (data science/big data/etc).

I've seen some specs from good banks for permanent roles at "VP" level, but the basic salaries are quite low compared to my freelance rates: only around 120000 per year. Does anyone know what the bonus situation is like in Engineering? I guess it's role dependant?

Also what is the progression like? I think i'm ready to start climbing the corporate ladder, and come in from the cold of freelancing. Of course only if the money is right.
