Any summer S&T interns on IB forum willing to discuss their tasks so far?

This past week there have been 3 posts on Trading forum asking summer S&T interns what their experience/tasks have been like so far... thus far, not a single response/comment. So maybe the S&T'ers are lurking on this forum. If so, can you describe the kinds of tasks the firm had you doing this week? Thanks.

I'll step up... just started this past week at a mid-top BB. Important precursor: I'm a quant type major (CS, Stat, Math)

So far it's been frustrating. I realize that we're constrained by short rotations and we have no ability to talk to clients/trade, but I really wanted to have my desk have me code something as someone who has the ability to do so. Instead the 'tasks' involves mostly networking, a lot like being in the office for an S&T internship, but you can't walk around & ask for a chat and rather have to spend way too much time setting up time to call people. Other than that, I've been asked to make bullshit summaries that I know no one will read because they add no value.

Some people really like this, don't get me wrong, and I don't mind chatting to people. It's easy and convenient if you're good at talking. But as someone who really likes results, it's extremely frustrating

Still going through the motions and keeping a positive attitude about it, and I will seek out meaningful projects if I don't get any. So I'll update a couple weeks from now
