Anyone else "stranded" in Amsterdam?

This thing sucks ass. My wife has been stuck in the States since Friday, and now I'll be surprised if she's back here by Wednesday. I'm reading that the Brits are staging the Royal Navy to bring citizens back to the UK by ship. This is some crazy shit.

Meanwhile, the weather is absolutely gorgeous here in Paris, and you'd never know there was a massive column of volcanic ash in the sky. On the plus side, there are far worse places to be stranded than Amsterdam! Smoke up, Johnny!

Yeap, I agree, things could be worse, Clear skies here in the Netherlands. I am hearing flights are leaving Spain for the US. Can you confirm that?

I just met a guy who booked a train to Italy (400 - 600 Eu, 24hrs) and plans to fly from there. But i thought all if not most flight routes from Europe went up and over past UK, Iceland, then down along the NA east coast.

The joke is i can train to Italy then fly to Hong Kong/Tokyo then to San Fran or LA then to the East Coast. Just keep going east around the globe, eventually you will end up west.

I'm supposed to fly to Frankfurt on wednesday night, is this still thing going to last until then?

I was watching ARD and Deutsche Welle and they said most German airports are currently closed. The british are saying they are opening on Tuesday.

If you are in the US i doubt you will make that trip. BBC is saying British Airports closed until Tuesday.

I just got on a flight "leaving" on Friday. Lets see...

New ash cloud formed overnight. Britain was supposed to open today but now they're backpedaling. My wife was supposed to get on a flight from Chicago-Paris this afternoon, but now it's cancelled. They re-booked her for Saturday.
