Anyone gotten an interview without networking?
Currently at a private capital real estate shop on the equity side--looking to transition into the CMBS space. Recently, I applied for an analyst position in JP Morgan's CMBS Originations group in NYC and immediately got one of those Hirevue invitations. Now, I pretty much just applied to apply and I do not know anyone in the NYC office. Obviously, I am going to do the interview, but am I basically pissing in the dark? Would it be worth reaching out to some analysts before I send it in? Thanks.
Is there 0 chance if you don't network? (Originally Posted: 06/16/2017)
if you apply to a bank from a target school but you didn't network with anyone (b/c no one is responding to my cold emails), is there close to a zero chance of getting a first round?
No of course there's still a chance. Be persistent. They'll love that.
