Application Error - GS - withdraw and re-apply?

Instead of applying to 2021 Spring Programme, I’ve mistakenly applied for the 2020 Seasonal/Off-Cycle Internship. Realising my mistake, I withdrew my application for this. However, now, I am unable to submit another application. I really want to apply for 2021 Spring Week - do you think I should withdraw and re-apply? Will I get rejected for this later on if I get an offer? It was a real mistake on my behalf and I feel absolutely awful - is there anyway I can rectify this?

I’m sure this is something that can be fixed on the back end if you can get in touch with somebody in Human Capital Markets (GS recruiting). The email escapes me at the moment but see if you can find it somewhere online and reach out. Also FWIW you could always just make a new careers account with a different email and apply from there.

Thanks so much for your message. I’ve just emailed them explaining my situation. I know they rarely respond so do you know if making a new account would cause any problems for me in the long run?

While it would be ideal if you could just go through HCM, I doubt it would be much of an issue to just make a new account. For all they know you just got locked out somehow — not like you were rejected from one program and made a new account to re-apply to the same program. I don’t have firsthand experience as I haven’t personally created a second account before, but I do know somebody who made a second account a couple years back during recruiting and didn’t have an issue, so that’s just my line of thinking.

Yes, I completely understand. I will wait for a response from the recruiting team and if I don’t get a response, I’ll make another account and apply for the right programme. And since I’m applying for a different programme anyways, it won’t come up with my application twice, right? Thanks for all your help!
