Applying questions..

Hi everyone, I go to a semi target (Michigan, Berkeley, UVA type), and so we have sprinkled listings from various bulge brackets for various divisions.

So I have several questions about applying. I am a US citizen who lived in Hong Kong and open to working either in the US and Hong Kong. So my questions are

1. If the same bank posts for two listings, not necessarily 2 divisions, for instance, one listing for equities and one for fixed income, am I allowed to resume drop for both? Or should I stick to one? How bout different divisions, does resume dropping for 2 different divisions, say S&T and AM hurt?

2. I often see people say they are interviewing with whatever group. Like let's say M&A, TMT. or for S&T say commodities... Does this come later in the process? Like do they look at your resume and decide what group you should interview for? Or do they have seperate listings for each at targets that I just dont see here? Or Is there somewhere you can make your specific preference that I am missing?

3. Sometimes I see very general listings like "global markets" while other times I see very specific ones like "alternative investments-Chicago". Is regional or specific group recruiting sometimes run outside of general HR?

4. Now I sometimes see people interviewing for positions for say in London or Hong Kong. I never see listings for overseas. Do they sort you into regions or how do you make your preference?

I know I sound like a newbie but everyone gotta start somewhere no? So I am looking forward to any answers and I really appreciate it.
