Applying to LA offices if I am on SF

Hello!

I currently live in the bay area (near SF) and was just wondering if applying to LA boutiques and BB is a viable thing to do. I am a recent college grad (May 2013) and have been working on sales for a little over a month. I have a 3.5 GPA in Actuarial Science. Do companies in LA bother with candidates that are not local (but very near), living in LA has pretty much been my dream.
Should I limit my search to SF?
Also, are my stats and current situation (not a college student anymore), good enough to land an ibanking position?
