Are London Member Clubs worth it for Networking?

As I become more senior in the coming years and my role starts to shift more towards client relationships and origination, I am wondering if it´s worth investing in a membership at one of London´s top private clubs (Annabel´s, George, Ned´s Club, etc).

Do CEOs, Board members and PE Partners frequent these venues? Do MDs from top banks conduct business or network there?

So the master plan is to drop 20k-25k a year on a membership just for the chance (a faint, flickering chance) to run into a CEO from some specific subvertical that your team covers. And if by some miracle that happens, he´ll probably get extremely annoyed because some overeager junior VP or ED is interrupting his day off while he´s just trying to enjoy a quiet whisky with his wife... truly bulletproof strategy.

Time to grow up! Real business doesn´t work like it does in Suits or Succession where deals are magically closed over drinks in mansions, yachts and exclusive golf clubs. If you want to originate real opportunities, focus on what actually works: cold email outreach, drafting good content, and nailing your intro meetings - the kind that happen in offices and conference rooms.
