Are social clubs worth it?
Have had multiple VPs and directors be members and just curious if anyone has actually gotten thoughtful networking out of it? Or is just another place to drink at?

If you’re asking if they’re worth it, you wouldn’t get in anyway
I have an invite. Thanks undergrad kid who’s never been in banking yet. Go touch grass bud.
very club dependent. I'm a part of 2 through my family, and one is way more social than the other since it has golf, tennis, pools, multiple lunches/dinners a week, etc. - easy to network/meet new people since there is a lot of stuff to do. The other simply has a dining hall that hosts cocktail hours and lunches/dinners (not as often) and basically only going to expand your network if you know other members who can/are willing to introduce you/invite you to lunches/dinners with the other members they know and the cycle repeats from there
Can you go to the club as a guest of whoever and see what it's like firsthand?
Soho house, zero bond or the Ned types?
I've heard of soho house and tbh, if i hear a IBD banker that goes there, I presume it's because his GF/wife has a membership or he's looking to find a marketing/comms etc. girl as a gf/wife/hoook up
On the subject, most of the networking I've seen/heard are sports group. I know MDs who regularly meet up with another PE MD to cycle, another MD plays tennis or golf regularly (monthly) with other C Suites.
