Plenty of groups with decent culture, but not necessarily good hours. Culture of groups within BBs varies significantly, so hard to speak at the firm level. However, I have heard pretty great things about CVP, but the hours are bad.

From what I have gathered, a lot of sponsors teams at BBs have pretty good culture and relatively good hours.

So what have you heard, just nice people. Culture is an annoying term because it can mean coworker personalities, work hours, the quality of work, ability to move up, basically anything I feel like.

I would be curious specifically to hear about companies with little facetime and at least marginally better hours (in healthcare).

Everything but good hours for CVP. I’ve heard that they generally have a no asshole culture, the people are really intelligent, the engagements are meaningful (advisory work), clients are mega cap, junior team has good visibility and is actually valued, emphasis on development / mentorship, great pay, and room for internal promotion. Biggest downside is the three year commitment given they’re focused on developing career bankers.

I worked in HC IBD, and unfortunately I don’t know of any groups with good WLB. HC banking is notoriously sweaty. Hours were typically 90+ per week and this seemed to be norm across the street at good shops.
