Are you able to enjoy the city?

During one of my internships I spoke to an associate in NYC, we were talking about pizza places around the city. He told me “unfortunately I haven’t been able to explore the city much”

2+ years in the job and still he was unable to explore the city.

Nyc is the most premier city on this earth from its shopping, restaurants, fashion, and money. During the day, streets, cafes and shops are filled with people.

In this industry, are you even able to enjoy it? With the exception of a Saturday down to the LES once a month?

Can’t do anything during the week which sucks, especially in the summer when all your friends are at happy hour.

Saturday are open all day to explore nyc, Sunday is a hit or miss depending on if I’m working or not. I’d say 50% of Sundays I’m logged on from noon till midnight :(

It’s pretty difficult if you have a group that constantly expects work all the time and do not respect Saturdays.

I would echo others that Saturday is the only true free day a majority of the time but with the implicit downfall that you want to recover from the week so gym / good sleep is sometimes the best outcome….
