Ask Manager for Wall St Contacts

At the buy side company I'm interning right now, my manager has worked on Wall Street at several bulge bracket banks. I'm a rising junior and I want to pursue Investment Banking for my junior year summer internship. How do I have the conversation with my manager asking him for his connections? At the same time I don't want him to think I hate my job there since I really do enjoy the experience. I'll probably get an offer to come work for the company again next summer if I do a really good job. When would be a good time to discuss this with him and how should I open up the careers conversation?
