Asking for References after offer, what's the logic behind?
This is the second time I came across this. I accepted an SA offer, with all the HR paper work, they ask you to put down references from previous colleagues.
Doesn't anyone find this illogical? I mean if you are gonna check references and ask them how you work on a team and how your performance was, you would imagine that logically they should do that before they extend you an offer?
Is it just a formality? Or do they actually call those references after you accept an offer? (I dont mean the employment history where they ask you who your manager was.. it's actually a seperate section that says "professional references (please list at least 1)"
Background Check, my friend, background check. They need the references for that purpose.
they dont use reference for background check. They call the HR at the company you worked at for background check. If they did use references for background check, they would have told you to list a reference from every place you worked at...
