Associate Comp - Total compensation?
Can someone just go ahead and lay out what a first-year associate can expect in terms of total compensation (salary + bonus)?
Thx

i've heard ranges:
$90-110k base, $110-$180k bonus =
total comp: $200-$290k
I think it's either $95,000 or $105,000 base. Bonus within that range.
I guess expect mid-200 salary+bonus
at ML, it was 250-300k this past year
i also heard ML was paying up to 300k for first years.
OK...high 200 to low 300, considering Merrill Lynch is notoriously stingy.
of this site shows total comp for 1st year associate averaging 220k. aren't you guys a bit optimistic here?
I can cool off from this website in a while now.
220k is reasonable if you count the signing bonus of 30k base of 100k and 100% of bas. It is reasonable (230k).
There have been tons of posts about what analysts and 1st year associates make, but why does the info just dry up after that? What's the word on what more senior associates and vp's make? That's a lot more interesting to me.
I'm sure ML is paying 300K for first years - that is, if they're buying them in three packs...
associates dood.
Im pretty certain that ML does not pay $300K for a 1st year associate unless the persons the son/daughter of some multi-billionaire entreprenuer whos dad will be able to generate HUGE banking fees for ML.
Dont think any BB firms paid 300K for 1st yr Assoc. there may be a handfull of individuals that may have gotten this due to exemplary performance (not sure what that is - I read that as luck and preferential treatment)- other than that middle of the road was 200-220 and the really high end was 250-270.
just curious so what do 2nd and 3rd year associate base salary and bonus look like?
