Associate level job interview
Hello everyone I have an interview coming up this week for a 2nd/3rd year associate position at a BB. I used to be in banking, then moved to corp dev, and then thinking of switching back to banking. This is a sector specific team. Has anyone on the forum gone through an interview at this level before? I think the interview would be a walkthrough of the resume and the work I have done. On the technical side I am not sure what kind of questions to expect. Any tips would be great. I also intend to speak to the person who helped set up the interviews, but also wanted to get a different point of view. Many thanks
Why did you leave banking? Long term career goals? Sector interest? Why choose sector (if you're already in it)? What if we made a offer to join as a first/second year assoc? Why this bank? (if returning) Why not bank x (the one analysted at)? Personal interests
hey funda - the questions above are all valid, but as far as the technical side, i'd say not to expect any walk me through a DCF type questions.
the technical is going to be based on your deal experience, for example, when you bought this company or your client buy this company, what assumptions when into your valuation, what's important to you as a buyer, etc.
there also may be what are some important metrics in this industry..i.e. ev/subscriber in the telecom/cable industries type questions as well.
