Associate Training?

There is a lot of discussion on this board with regards to analyst training, but what about Associate training? Is this even true? Do Associates go through a training program before starting their new position?

I'm interested in hearing what its like, what types of things are covered, and if the same program applies to those out of B-School vs. those being promoted from 3rd year analysts....Thanks in advance

I have worked on the Entry Level Training Program at a BB bank for new hire ANA/ASC. There is a training program for new hires to the firm as well as promotes.

Associate new hires (at this particular firm) went through a five week training program. They experienced many of the same learning modules as analysts (Accounting, Valuation, Modeling, and a mock Fire Drill assignment as a team), but at an accelerated pace. Tests were taken and graded, with grades sent to the desk MD at the end of training.

Promotes from inside the company only participated in one week of training. Their training was separate from the new hire's.

I hope this helps.
