Attention all bankers in Texas- Houston, Dallas, Ft Worth, San Antonio, Etc...

Do you all think that kids coming out of SMU Cox Business School (Dallas) in Finance have a significant advantage over kids coming out of Baylor's business program(Waco)? Just trying to see how prestigious these schools are and what their respective reputations look like in the professional world (Especially in things finance-related).

SMU Cox. Its connection to Dallas and Houston is much more refined. I haven't seen any Baylor kids in any office. Also, ALTS places everywhere if you can get into that program. Prestige-wise, SMU ranks higher than Baylor as well.

TX Banker here and I think as far as “texas targets” go it’s the following:

Tier 1: UT Austin & Rice

Tier 2: SMU & Texas A&M

Tier 3: Baylor & TCU

Tier 4: Everyone else

SMU could be tier 1 honestly, but I just see a few more people across the board being from UT Austin and Rice.
