availability for boutique 1st round interview
A boutique firm I cold-emailed for a summer analyst intenship a few weeks ago contacted me this week to see my availibility for a 1st round interview. I replied yesterday and told them that I wasn't available for an interview yesterday but was today and all of next week. I've been battling flu-like symptoms for the past few days and was hopeful that I'd recover by today. Well, I haven't and as a result I'm in no condition to take part in an interview.
Another thing: In my original email, I didn't mention that I was sick. And also, the email regarding my availability that I sent out yesterday has yet to get a response from the boutique. Do I email my contact at the boutique and explain to her that I'm sick today and am unavailable for an interview or just plan on explaining the situation to them if they do decide to call me today?
Thanks in advance.
i would think that they would schedule the interview, not just randomly call you for an interview. that was my experience at least--have never just been called randomly, its always been scheduled beforehand.
should i be concerned at all by the lack of response? when should i expect a response?
I've done interviews drunk and also with a 102 fever... i think you should suck it up and do it. especially if its a phone interview. I realize that you want to be in tip top condition, but I think you'll be fine if you've already done your ground work and have already brushed up on your technicals
I did an interview at 10am after a hard night out... I was definitely still drunk. and I eventually got an offer there. WINNING!
