Average career length of investment banker?
For post-MBA, after how many years on average do most investment bankers leave the field? And what do most usually leave it for?
Also, how many are asked to leave compared to leaving by choice?

Interested in knowing as well. My understanding is that 75% or so of the associates make it to VP. And then it's all over the place.
"For post-MBA, after how many years on average do most investment bankers leave the field? " If u come in as associate u can make VP in 3-4 years, 2 years if you are good. After 4 years if there is no track to VP most associate either coast, transfer groups or leave. That said everything now-a-days is changing. Of course you always get those random buy side switches or burnout/fedup associates
"And what do most usually leave it for?" depends what group/division u where placed in
Do you want the average, or do you want the median? Answer will be quite different.
