In England, we do GCSE exams when we are 16, and A-levels when 18. On my application and CV, I misstated my GCSE result.... I said I got X Astars, whereas in fact I got X Astars and 1 A

You're fucked. Be sure to call your exam board and ask them to purge your A asap. Tell them you want to donate it away.

2 things you can do: 1) call HR said you looked at your app and say you made a mistake, it's going to look suspicious though; or 2) leave it, if caught play the ignorance card. just relax, it's a binary situation which is now out of your control
