Background Check

Hey guys - I was in the process for a role for ~6 months and finally got to an offer stage. I am about to start my background check but was unfortunately laid off in March - the stance for the final rounds I had in April was vague, as if I was still at the firm and they were using an old resume. For the background check, I intend to list out March 2025 as my end date, but what are the chances it comes up with the new firm that I left in March 2025?

Pretty sure they’re only checking if you were actually employed there and aren’t lying. One month off isn’t going to be flagged probably, because you are putting the correct dates for the background check now (even though your resume says otherwise). I doubt they’ll cross reference with your resume and even if they do nothing will come out of it probably. Someone correct me if I’m wrong though

Going through the exact same now, going to a new bank and have to disclose a historic layoff. The dates are pretty seamless in my case but still worried. Will update you.

To check, any news on your side?
