Background check: Got a temp back office job from a BB

Got a temp position from a BB (GS/JPM/MS). Despite the short term (3 month) basis, the company requires a credit check and employment check.

I am a bit nervous. I have been freelancing for years. Strictly speaking, I have no employers but being a contractor working on job basis.

Now I am filling in the pre screening employment form. It requires me to list out my previous "employers" and "start date and end date". My problem is how do I fill in as they are not my employers in strict legal sense even though I almost worked for them few days a week. Would they also find out my unreported ones (as I think they are not completely related to the position I applied).

And how thoroughly do they background a short term contractor? My employment arrangement with them is on contractual basis. Tks.
