If they really want you, asking for your transcript is usually a formality. If they're looking for something to thin out the herd, lying on an application would certainly do that. Don't mean to offend, but a 3.03, for example, is not at all close to 3.1; but then, I'm stating the obvious.

Good luck. Most often, if they're asking for your transcript, you're almost home.

Then again, I don't think all companies go through verification down to GPA. They certainly can easily if they want to request transcript but not all companies do so. Some companies do check on top of requesting transcript.
