Background check issue

Completed a background check for a BB and the third party could not contact a former employer. BB HR reached out to verify employment with proper forms, which I was able to provide. Think the issue was because the job was at a franchise for a national chain that has changed franchisees at least 3 times in the past 5 years, including once while I worked there in high school.

In the standard pre-adverse action form they sent, it also says you have the right to dispute the information with the background check company. For anyone who has been in a similar spot, is that necessary or will simply working with the bank's HR be enough to resolve the issues?

The dispute clause is when you receive adversary data from the third party, you can then explain it or provide more data.

But in this case they couldn't contact anyone at all? I would make the relevant phone calls to your former HR team and put a rush on it. I have seen canceled offers because the background check couldn't be finished. It is your responsibility to provide the correct name, title, phone number and email to the new company.
