Baird Update London

Received a couple of inbounds from HH for a lateral position in their industrial team. Most of the topics on WSO are related to the US. Anyone who can confirm culture, work life balance and comps for their London office? How is the process structured? How does it compare to the other MM banks in the sector?

Know their head of EMEA Tech. So not industrials but hopefully gives you a starter.

Good culture. They have a big focus on culture for lateral hires. For example they won't hire from Jefferies.

Decent flow but won't be the same as Blair or Houlihan. But not as sweaty.

Comp for junior bankers is similar to most London MMs.

Do you know the base / bonus for associates ?

How strong is their tech team beyond the head of tech?

Would you advise going there from an EB? (think PWP/Moelis/EVR/PJT, not Roth/Laz)

You mentioned hours - generally, are these MM shops sweatier than EB/BBs or in line?)

Separately and off topic, you mentioned Blair but I understood there’s been quite an exodus from their tech team.

Industrials team is weird and is split with consumer. Flow definitely less good than the HL and Jeff’s, but pay is still strong. Do work hard.

Great insight. Do you happen to know how of your time would be split the two?

What do you mean with weird?
