Banking Lateral at VP Level — How to Source Opportunities?

Been in the same analyst seat for 8 years now and am an experienced BB at an EB. For a variety of reasons looking to make a move but don’t know where to begin — how do you source lateral opportunities and get in the process? Are headhunters or recruiters helpful or do you just apply on LinkedIn / company websites and hope to hear back?
