Don't know anything about BarCap Menlo Park but there are some groups at Barclays NY that are very good and are doing well. Natural Resources is great. But, in NYC, there are also some IB groups you can get stuck in like Risk Solutions that are extremely different from traditional banking and have few exit opps. I'd search Linkedin as to where Barcap Menlo people have gone after their 2 years. If the exits there are fairly good, and you have no connections into the normal IB groups at Barclays NY, and you don't mind living on the West Coast, it might make sense to go Menlo Park. Also, take my advice with a grain of salt (along with the rest of WSO advice). Don't base a career decision solely off of what you hear on this website. I would try to talk to some people at Menlo and in NYC and get their opinions.
