Barclays IB Grad offer questions

Hi,

I applied to the 2023 Banking Graduate Program at Barclays and received an offer (London)

When talking with the HR, they told me the offer was for the "coverage" stream of banking. However, when I asked them which teams could be inside this "stream" they told me they were not allowed to tell me....

I supposed there are industry coverage teams, UK M&A but she also told me there was some Nordics teams. Does anyone know anything about this? Could one end up in things such as corporate broking?

Considering one of the teams that interested me interviewed on the first round and flagged my profile to the HR, how likely do you think I could be allocated to this team?

Completely fruitless to ask for probabilities because none of us know since we are not HR.

Doubt you'll be put into corporate banking, usually that's its own application process.

Typically Barclays allows you to list your preferences, and they will try to accommodate. Some groups are more popular than others, such as TMT and PUI, but if I were you, I'd ask for any preferences - especially if you've worked on previous deals before in the sector coverage you're aiming for.
