BB Credit SA (Commercial) to FT IB?

Hey guys,

I'm a junior at a non-target state school (semi-target for some) with a 3.5 finance/econ. I pursued IB SA recruiting by networking, went on to super days for BB's in NYC but nothing stuck at the end. MM's in my city are non-existent and even boutiques are out. I'm left with no offer currently for the summer, wondering how to leverage whatever I can get to full-time IB recruiting in the fall. My possible options right now are looking to be summer credit analyst at a BB (Not NYC) or interning at a private equity firm (no guarantee in this, but vigorously searching). Which do you think will be better? I ultimately want to join LevFin IBD. Perhaps I could spin off the credit experience for FT interviews in IBD?

My previous experiences are BB AWM SA and an off-cycle internship in investment research.
