I have just accepted an Equity Research Associate offer at a BB in NYC, starting in January. I would like to lateral internally to the Investment Banking Division given my passion for dealmaking. Has anyone here done so before? If you have, what were the timeline and process like? I hear some people say it takes 2 years, some say 1 year. I understand HR may create issues in moving around.
I would greatly appreciate any insight into this process.
Additionally, yes, I understand the hours are a lot worse and more stressful, but nonetheless, I have spent a lot of time considering this decision.
