BB Hiring through 3rd party consulting firm

I currently have an offer at a BB bank in one of their originations groups for an associate level position (previously did a 2-year analyst stint at another bank). Interview process went smoothly until the very end when I was told the bank doesn't hire employees directly but instead outsources the hiring to a 3rd party consulting firm. Overall, the employment is structured similar to any other position (e.g. my group would set my pay, benefits, etc) though I would not have an official bank title and would not be an employee of the bank. This through me for a loop as I have never heard of this type of arrangement and am somewhat wary.

Can anyone opine on this type of practice? I am looking to go to business school in a few years and am worried about the impact this could have on my resume.
