It depends a lot on the BB and the regional office. Some regional offices place better than NYC, the same, or worse.

Something to diligence further if you can be more specific about some banks you're considering.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

Thanks for your reply. It's a relatively newer office (in a tier 3 or 4 city) with a substantially smaller headcount/team compared to the NYC office.Would the fact that it is a newer and less established office with a much smaller team negatively impact exits, quality of deal experience, and overall prestige?

Most Helpful

Exits - probably if the headhunters that cover the PE firms you're targeting don't know of your office / don't have a track record / don't have a presence in your city

Quality of deal experience - hard to say and very group and MD-dependent

Prestige - sure but within the industry it's linked to the MD, if they are good then your reputation is improved

You can always aim to try and go A-A and transfer offices to NYC later if this is the offer you have. If you have NYC offer and comparing it to this, probably a different story. But it really depends.

I'm also struggling to figure out what a Tier 3/4 city is. I would consider NYC a tier by itself, then CHI/SF/LA/HOU probably Tier 2, then CHA/MIA/BOS??

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.
