BB IB -> MBB Consulting in London

Evening fellow Londoners,

After a few rough months working in a team with a toxic culture, I really want out of banking. Also, the work and nature of strategy consulting seem much more stimulating (know indirectly through consultant friends) than what I'm doing... so seriously considering this move. How feasible is it to move from a top BB (1st-year analyst) to an MBB firm? Would they value my profile? How do I go about preparing?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

It will be tricky but it's definitely doable. Given you're BB IB i'll assume you have stellar academics. Anecdotally, you will need a solid case to explain why you want the move. Spin some of your IB experience & projects to explain why you want to do consulting, and how/why your motivations have shifted from IB to Consulting - you need to emphasise the pull more than the push. Reach out to ppl on LinkedIn who've made the move, most may ignore but the one person who replies could be your one route in. Good luck bro.
