BB Summer Analyst Books

Quick question: I know most BB's have a book they distribute to summer analysts during training week that lists every intern's name and general background. I also know that a lot of banks have their interns submit their resumes so that the banks can gather this information for their books. However, do these summer analyst books contain the entire resumes of each analyst or just their major information like division, college, major, and gpa?

Also, my friend said that at his BB last summer they had an optional thing where he could submit more information about himself like extracurriculars not mentioned in his resume or travel experience, for example. Is this really optional or should summer analysts definitely do this optional part?

What about when you start full-time? Does a book like this go around or is it assumed that the group heads have already seen everyone's resumes during the filtering process?
