BB/EB - deal flow dried, should I leave?

Have been at a BB/EB for a few months and my groups deal flow has been dead. I want to recruit for PE but I know deals are a big part (also only “enjoyable” part of banking). Should I hop to a better firm if a spot opens up and forgo my bonus/burn the bridge with my internal network? I honestly love the team, they are all nice but push you when they need you to perform. I feel like I’m finally getting to a point where I’m gaining the trust of the group, but no deals = only pitch work which I’m not willing to do for 2 years. Who knows when the economy recovers so I don’t want to gamble my career on that aspect

You will have to try hard to find a legitimate reason to leave and not mention the issue about deal flow. Even that, I echo the above and doubt any serious banks would take you.

Give it 8 to 12 months in and you’ll be surprised how many groups are essentially just pitching. Having been at EB a year and a few months myself, I def saw ups and downs here.
