2017 summer is around the corner – I’ve been at the same ol shiz box in for 3 years now and wanted to see whats reasonable to expect in NYC.
Anyone have some neighborhood suggestions for a 1 BR in NYC? Is a decent place possible for under $2800 a month? To broker or not to broker?
Downtown preferred, open to wherever though.
$2,800 is a very good budget. You can get by with a studio for $1900 - $2200 in Murray Hill/Kips Bay area. It may be difficult to get a 3 month lease though. I'd recommend looking at airbnb.
OP, if i understand correctly, youre looking to sign a new lease and want to see whats out there for $2,800? A lot of it comes down to preference, and where youre willing to compromise. If you've been in NYC for 3 years, I assume you know you can get a lot more for your buck in areas that arent deemed "hot". $2800 is pretty healthy budget tho.
