I have a thinkpad x13 with AMD 5 that I enjoy - all the necessary ports for whatever it is you need, high processing power, and small enough/light weight that I can transport it around. Typically pair it with a samsung 23' curved monitor but reimagining the setup with double.

I'd recommend an adjustable monitor setup on those freemoving mounts (because I think it's cool) but also practical

I'm a huge Dell guy. Only because I've had problems with the touch pad on the Thinkpad's and find them a bit bulky. Love the Dell XPS, it's light and sexy like a Mac but doesn't suck miserably for excel like a Mac.

The Dell Latitude and/or Inspiron is a great budget option, if you're a big value-guy. Inspiron is a wee bit more expensive but still reasonable.

yeah that's true, my thinkpad does run into issues sometimes with the trackpad, but I've found that it's usually because I also have a mouse plugged in (no issues with the mouse though!) Hear good things about the XPS - do you have a touch screen on it?

I do and I love it. At first I was iffy on it just because it's pricier and I didn't see the use, but I got it anyway because the 4K display version only comes with touchscreen. I use that laptop when WFH (my firm given computer is a desktop that sits in the office) and the touchscreen feature has grown on me a ton. Great for highlighting, circling things and/or leaving comments on Word or PDF files.
