Most Helpful

C&R is to Solomon as Healthcare/Biopharma is to Centerview, its by far the stand-out group of the firm.

All of the groups are great as mentioned, such as GPR/IPR. Business services is a place to keep an eye on as one of the rainmaker MDs that was just poached is building out a Chicago office for the group, and it should be 20-30 people by the end of the year. Another group that isn't explicit mentioned but is very unique and is killing it is the Credit Card advisory practice nestled within the fintech group. Basically they are advising retailers/stores/brands with co-branded credit cards to see how much their card portfolio is worth when they are deciding to switch banks/issuers (i.e. Gap switching their $3.8bn credit card portfolio from Synchrony to Barclays)

Funniest

I had my monthly check in with my staffer today. When asked about my goals for this coming year, all I had to say was that one day I too hope to gain the level of blissful ignorance of pjsinsider. Maybe then, and that's a big maybe, I too will be able to wear my brown oxfords to the Monday bagel roundtable jerkoff sesh. By the end of my 2 years, practically every LMM PE fund will be on their knees begging me to come do due diligence on pizza shop roll up transactions. This is the way.
