Best Interview Questions

I am convinced that some Illuminati-like group, at some point in human history, has infiltrated every major financial services firm with the sole intent to make every interview the same.

We go in, give the resume speech, elaborate on strengths, weaknesses, the name of our first pet, and why the interviewer’s group and bank over the others that do the same thing but with different color schemes on the output. Then, the vault guide comes out and we we walk through a DCF and try to figure out the angle on the hands of a clock at a given time before we run through our own set of questions “What’s your day like?” “What’s your favorite part of your job?” and so on.

Every now and then, a miracle occurs, and a diamond appears in the rough. There are some good interview questions like, “What’s the most interesting thing you read about this week?” or “How’s your dad liking his new pitching wedge?” These are a strong start, but there must be some real bombs out there that need to start getting asked more often.

Monkeys, interviewers, people listening-in on phone-screens, what are the best questions you’ve ever heard?
