Best NYC places to get 2 meals for $30?

Okay so I have $30 dinner allowance at my bank in nyc and I’m trying to figure out places where I can basically get enough food for dinner and lunch the next day. I’m tired of spending $18 on a chipotle burrito everyday for lunch (fuck inflation). If anyone has suggestions please help your boy out

DIG, Naya, sweetgreen, Bread & Butter, Pret a Manger, Shake Shack, Dos Toros, Los Tacos, Urbanspace.

Probably plenty of small Chinese, Indian, and Thai places around if you search on Google maps, not to mention your local deli options. I have a 24hr deli near my apartment that does all sorts of sandwiches for $10, which is incredible for super late night food.

I feel like I can't get out of urban space for lunch for less than $20. I routinely pay $10 for a cold brew and granola bar. My salad and seltzer the other day was $20.. what are you ordering there?

Like the unadjusted- only with a little bit extra.

Agreed urbanspace is a total ripoff. You basically have to buy two of what they give you with how small their portion sizes are. That comes to 30 all in for most of their stores, so I only bought urbanspace using the stipend after wasting my money there like 10 times and not feeling full

Realize this isn’t what you asked, but I would highly recommend you consider your health here. It may be possible to get two meals (maybe one a salad) for $30, but it’s tough and you’ll end up just eating takeout every day (which usually has a lot more unhealthy stuff than cooking at home).

I’d recommend using your stipend on dinner (getting from a decent place) and try and do some meal prep over the weekend (chicken, fish, rice, etc) so that you can balance your diet. Working in IB is tough, eating every single meal out is only making it tougher on your health.

favorite “meals” under $15:

sweetgreen - green goddess bowl, add chicken

chipotle - steak/chicken/pork burrito, add everything that’s free

joe and the juice - pink/blue/chocolate shake (600 calories with a significant amount of plant-based protein, heavy in fructose)

Just go pick it up, you can get 2 burritos easily for $30

Bruh what are you getting extra guac and chips and salsa every time you go to Chipotle? When I was there this summer, it was around 11-12 after tax not 18. Surely they can't have increased prices 50% in a month and a half?? Make sure to use pickup and not delivery
