Big 4 to investment banking or CF
I'm currently working at one of the big 4 in the Power/Natural Resources/Mining audit practice and will be getting my CA/CPA within 6 months.
I was wondering what everyone thought about the experience in this audit practice versus being in the banking audit group?
Do investment banks or CF groups care about which sector your audit work was focused on? Would being on banking audits help or does it make no difference?
I have the opportunity to transfer to a different audit group to finish my time, so I just want input on what you all think about which will look better to an IB.
Get out of there as quick as you can before you're pigeonholed as an accountant for life. If that's unrealistic try moving to the transaction services side of the business during the rest of your time there. That will look much better than switching industry groups for some perceived small gain.
